We have amazing people in the Repair Cafe Wales Family

As part of a series on getting to know our volunteers, we’ve set a series of questions and our amazing volunteers have answered them ‘virtually’ for us.

Next up in the series is our Data Ambassador, Adam

Q. What is your name, when did you start volunteering with Repair Cafe Wales and in what capacity (role / skill)?

Adam Steed, data ambassador working remotely

Q. Why did you decide to volunteer with Repair Cafe Wales?

Found this to be an opportunity to make a difference and an improvement to the amazing service that you already provide. Whilst the data sits in the background, it’s super important to get it right!

Q. What do you like best about Repair Cafe Wales?

Just the way in which you’re able to help people in ways they may not be able to otherwise. With the last year of covid, people have suffered and struggled, and this service gives not only a great way to have things fixed, but for communities to socialise

Q. What is your favourite part of volunteering with us?

Bit of a geek, but I love the end result of getting some data and information together, and being able to present it and learn from it.

Q. What do you think the repair café events do for the community?

It creates a community culture, of helping each other.

Q. Have you gained any skills from the experience?

I have gained some skills! Fine tuning my ability to use Microsoft excel, learnt a new software package, and some new formula!

Q. How does volunteering with Repair Cafe Wales make you feel?

I feel privileged to be able to help and support such a great organisation

Q. Would you recommend volunteering for Repair Cafe Wales? Why?

Yeah absolutely… if you are all about community spirit, and helping others selflessly, then this is the place for you! So many communities and places and people would find so much benefit from your skills!
